Fall Festival 2010

The Sunshine School Fall Festival was a huge success.  Our 4 year old classes participated in games such as pin the nose on the pumpkin, toss the candy corn, holiday necklace making and the very popular scavenger hunt in the hay.   We also enjoyed many treats and homemade goodies provided by our Sunshine Moms and Dads.

Halloween Party Day!

The rainy day did not dampen our spirits for Wednesday’s Halloween party.  Thank you to all the parents and families that helped make it a memorable day for our Mommy and Me class and our 3 year old class.

Halloween Parties!

It’s going to be a busy week!

• The Mommy and Me class will be having their Halloween celebration on Wednesday.

• Also on Wednesday at 10:45 the 3 year old class will be having their party. (3 yr. old classes only)

• Thursday is Fall Festival Day for the 4 year old classes. (4 year old classes only)

Children can wear costumes if they wish, but no masks please.

More October events

Mrs. Muller and the 4 year old students have been very busy creating a mural of “butterflies in the great swamp” to be on display at the Great Swamp Art Exhibit and Celebration at the Thomas Memorial Center in Pawling.  You can view this mural at the art show on 10/23 and 10/24.

Our Halloween parties and fall festival are next week!  We are still looking for a few party items.   Please see our sign-up sheet in the coat room.  We look forward to seeing the children in their costumes.  (No masks please)

Also, we are beginning to collect canned goods and non-perishable items for our Thanksgiving food drive.  All the food collected will be donated to the Center for Compassion in Dover and the Resource Center of Pawling.  There will be a drop off box in the coat room for these items.  Thank you so much for helping the children donate to these great organizations.

Coming in November:

• The Sunshine School library will be starting with Mrs. Carleen
• Train trip (4 Yr. old classes)

• Our curriculum night will be on 10/21/2010 at 7pm.
• Fall Festival and Halloween Celebrations are coming… see the board in the coat room for sign up sheets.
• The Mommy and Me Halloween Party is 10/27/2010.  Please contact Mrs. S for more information.

Goodbye Rain…

The rain cleared and it was a beautiful day for our 4 year old Pumpkin Patch Field Trips.  Thank you to all the parents and family members who chaperoned our trips this week.  Be sure to browse the Pages on this site for field trip pictures.  Let the pumpkin decorating begin!

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

PLEASE BE ADVISED: Due to the weather forecast, the 4 year old Pumpkin Patch Trip is rescheduled and will take place on Thursday, 10/7 at 10:15 for all morning classes and 1:15 for the afternoon classes.

The 3 year old Pumpkin Patch Trip was yesterday.  Although it was a little windy and chilly, the Sunshine students were all smiles.  Everyone is looking forward to decorating their pumpkins this week.
