Reminders and more fun stuff…

A Few Reminders:

• TOMORROW:  Wed. 5/16… 3 Year Old Class PIZZA FIELD TRIP 10:30
• NO SCHOOL on 5/23 – 3 YR. OLD CONFERENCE DAY.
• 4 Year Old HORSE FARM TRIPS – 5/22 and 5/24 – sign up sheets are in the coat room.  Please be advised that the farm requests only one chaperone per child and no siblings.  Thank you for your understanding.
• Sunshine LIBRARY in closed as of May 24th.  Please return all books on or before then.  Thank you and Happy Summer Reading!!!
• CALLING ALL YOGURT EATERS:  We are looking for Yoplait yogurt containers.  Thank you for all your donations throughout the year.  They really help out!
• The Sunshine School follows the Pawling School district calendar.  SUNSHINE SCHOOL IS CLOSED ON FRIDAY 5/25.
• 3 Yr. Old FIRE HOUSE FIELD TRIP 6/4 at 10:00.
• SUMMER BIRTHDAYS will be celebrated on 6/11 for the 3 year old Class and 6/12 for the 4 year old Class.  Sign up sheets will be coming soon.
• LAST FULL DAY OF CLASSES:  Monday 6/11 for the 3 Yr. Old Class and Tuesday 6/12 for the 4 Yr. Old Class.
• 3 YR. OLD CLASS -moving up Luncheon will be on 6/13 from 10:30-12:30.  Snack sign up sheet will be coming soon.
• 4 YR. OLD CLASS GRADUATION will be in the social hall at the Sunshine School on 6/14 at 7PM.  Please arrive a little early to find parking in the village.  Children will need to line up by 6:45 at the latest.  Thank you.

Cinco de Mayo, Number Hide and Seek, Butterflies!

Cinco de Mayo Celebration

The Sunshine students celebrated Cinco de Mayo earlier in the month.  We had our usual math lesson…. in Spanish, painted maracas, made music and had a special snack.  Thank you to Mrs. Muller for teaching us about Cinco de Mayo!

Number Hide and Seek

Ms. Amanda is getting very tricky with her number games.  The children are on the look out for numbers 7 and 8 this week.

OUR BUTTERFLIES ARE HATCHING!

A few weeks ago the children learned about the life cycle of the butterfly.  Several caterpillars took up residence and Mrs. Muller is happy to report that we have 3 new butterflies in her classroom.  Still waiting for a few cocoons to hatch and then we will set them free on the playground.

April reminders and spring activities…

Spring has already been quite a busy time for our Sunshine students.  We have had a visit from Mr. Bob the music man, planted trees for Earth Day, learned about sequencing and patterns,  and also studied ground hogs, caterpillars and other spring animals.

REMINDERS:

• Spring has shown us some very unpredictable weather… please dress your children accordingly.
• 3 Yr. Old Mama’s Pizza field trip will be on 5/16 at 10:30
• 3 Yr. Old Class trip to Pawling Fire Dept. will be on 6/4 at 10:00.
• 3 Yr. Old Conferences will be all day on 5/23.  There will be NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS ON THIS DAY.
• Sunshine School follows the Pawling School calendar.  There will be NO SCHOOL on 5/25.

Spring is here….

March Reminders:

• Please send your child to school with appropriate jackets/hats for the new spring temperatures.
• Open House 3/24 from 10-2… spread the word!
• 4 Yr. Old Class parent/teacher conferences 3/29 and 3/30.
• Pawling Elementary Kindergarten Orientation 3/22.

Treasures/Supplies needed:

• Pussy Willows
• Yoplait yogurt containers
• Tissues
• If there is a particular snack your child really likes, please feel free to bring it in and share with the class!

Pawling School budget MEETINGS for Monday 2/13

•  Parents information session about the efficiency study from 4:30 – 5:30

•  Preliminary School Budget presentation/Board of Ed meeting 7:30-10

Please try to attend these important and informative meetings.

• ALSO  Pawling Elementary Kindergarten orientation is 3/22.  Call the elementary school for more info.

Sunshine Reminders:

• please label all jackets, hats, gloves, lunch boxes etc.
• Mid Winter recess is 2/20-2/24.  School is closed.

4 Yr. Old – POST OFFICE FIELD TRIP

REMINDER!!!

This Tuesday the 7th of February is our 4 yr. old trip to the Pawling Post Office.  The children will walk to the post office and mail their Valentine Cards.

PARKING LOT SAFETY – please read.

We understand that our parking situation can be difficult at times, but it  has been brought to our attention that some drivers are not being as cautious as they should be where our children and parents are concerned.   Please remember to always use care while driving in and out of the parking lot.   Safety is our NUMBER ONE priority.   Thank you.
